First Day In Tokyo
First day in Asakusa!
To preface: I'm sorry if this is rambling and incoherent and inelegant. I'm delirious and tired haHAhahAHAHHahahhah.
I landed between two and three in Haneda Airport after a ~14 hour flight. I was a bit exhausted but I did manage to snap this pic:
I was on my own for the first day with Gautam and Mackenzie visiting Mount Fuji. So after checking in at the hotel...
I just did some aimless walking to see what I'd find.
Asakusa is a district in Taito, Tokyo that strikes an interesting balance between a modern city and a livable neighborhood.
On top of all that, it's home to an immaculate Buddhist Temple, the Senso Ji.
It's a particularly pretty city at night, especially around the Sumida River.
In the evening I took the subway to a district more catered toward nightlife and tourism. I couldn't believe how clean their public transportation is.
I met up with Mackenzie and Gautam and enjoyed a multi-course omakase.
I enjoyed it all except for the squid. Slimy ain't exactly one of my favorite textures food-wise.
Until next time!
